Dräger announces that it will hold a free webinar entitled “Expect More from Your Thermal Imaging Camera!” to educate firefighters on how today’s new thermal imaging camera technology can help them on the job. The live webinar will be held on November 8, 2012 at 8 p.m. EST and will be hosted by Chris Cerci, a 19-year veteran of the fire service who has been with the City of McKeesport, Pennsylvania Fire Department for over 14 years. This webinar will help firefighters understand the fundamentals of technology behind thermal imaging and how these cameras have advanced into other firefighting applications. Participants will learn how to use this tool to its fullest potential in their
departments.

"At Dräger, we are passionate about educating our customers on topics that affect their day-to-day lives and offer solutions to make their jobs safer and more productive,“ says Greg Sesny, Product Manager. "That’s why we have developed on-demand webinars geared to firefighters of all levels. Because these webinars are produced by firefighters, the content is always from the
firefighter’s perspective.“

Thermal cameras are an increasingly important tool for fire departments – not only in firefighting, but in other areas such as vehicle accidents, hazmat, search and rescue, size-up, and overhaul. Understanding the information that the camera is providing and interpreting that information correctly is essential to the use of thermal imaging cameras.

According to veteran firefighter and webinar host Chris Cerci, “Over my years of using thermal cameras, I have seen their durability and functionality improve. Today’s cameras have a much clearer screen and provide firefighters with more valuable information. To gain the most out of a thermal imaging camera, it is essential to understand the information that the camera is delivering. In this webinar, we will discuss how thermal imaging technology delivers information to the firefighter, its limitations, and ways to achieve the full potential of what these cameras are capable of doing. Being able to interpret the information that is coming from a thermal imaging camera will help firefighting operations become faster, safer and more efficient.“
