TOSHIBA’S NEW MR SERIES OFFERS TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT FOR THE FUTURE

Full Upgrade Path Available with Vantage Titan 1.5T Series

CHICAGO, Nov. 26, 2012 – Providing hospitals with MR technology that fulfills their financial needs and grows with their clinical needs, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. will showcase the scalable Vantage Titan™ 1.5T MR series, which includes 8-, 16- and 32-channel MR systems, at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 25 – 30, 2012 (Booth #3438, South Hall).

Vantage Titan 8-channel is an ideal MR for the majority of clinical applications, offering patient-friendly features including a 71 cm bore, Toshiba’s exclusive Pianissimo™ noise-reduction technology, advanced non-contrast imaging, integrated coils with Octave SPEEDER™ technology and an intuitive M-Power user interface.

For customers who require enhanced cardiac imaging, the Vantage Titan line is easily upgradeable to a 32-channel system, enabling higher spatial and temporal resolution for better images of moving anatomy. The line is also enhanced with a modern, sleek exterior, including new covers and soft, patient-soothing lighting around the bore.

To improve orthopedic and body image quality, the entire series is available with 16 channel Flex SPEEDER coils that conform more closely to the anatomy, greatly improving signal-to-noise ratio. The coils are available in two different sizes and can be used for orthopedic, abdominal and general-purpose imaging of adults, and head, neck and spine imaging of pediatrics. For pediatrics, where standard coils are not optimal, the flexible coils can conform to nearly any body part and provide excellent image quality.

“With the Vantage Titan series, hospitals can invest in an 8-channel MR system today, with the option to upgrade if their clinical needs change in the future,” said Stuart Clarkson, director, MR Business Unit, Toshiba. “The patient-friendly features make exams more comfortable for patients, enabling hospitals to increase throughput and reduce retakes.”
