Springfield Clinic Purchases Four CARESTREAM DRX Systems to Streamline Imaging Workflow in Nine Multi-Specialty Clinics

 As part of its plan to convert nine of its facilities to a digital imaging workflow, Springfield Clinic (Springfield, Ill.) has purchased four CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution DR Rooms, a CARESTREAM DRX-Ascend System, and has retrofitted two fluoroscopy rooms and a portable imaging system with DRX-1 detectors. The Clinic also has five additional CARESTREAM DR systems and eight CARESTREAM CR systems.

The physician-led Springfield Clinic is a multi-specialty medical group with nearly 400 physicians, surgeons and other providers practicing at more than 25 permanent facilities. The clinic’s physicians serve a population of nearly 1 million patients throughout central Illinois. 

“Our physicians are extremely pleased with exceptional image quality and rapid access provided by Carestream’s DRX imaging systems. Surgeons are able to view X-ray images taken during a procedure in seconds and X-ray exams taken a few minutes earlier are available for physicians’ consultations with patients,” said Frana Evans, BS, RT (R), Springfield Clinic’s Director of Radiology. “All of these improvements benefit our patients, physicians and staff.”  

A consistent user interface on CARESTREAM CR and DR systems maintains high productivity for technologists who rotate among these different facilities, she adds. 

Over the years, Springfield Clinic staff members have developed a close relationship with Carestream’s experienced team of sales and service professionals. “They have helped us design new rooms, update old rooms and manage the movement of equipment to other locations,” she said. “And we have certainly benefited from Carestream’s expansive portfolio of room-based and portable systems that can perform general X-ray, specialized orthopedic and other types of exams.”
