There is one event football players at the 2014 National Football League Scouting Combine can’t train for: medical X-ray exams. These X-ray images are part of a comprehensive physical conducted during the Combine at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The hospital uses a CARESTREAM DRX-1 detector to produce high-quality digital X-ray exams while expediting the process of imaging more than 300 athletes over several days.

“Carestream’s DRX-1 detector equips our staff to efficiently conduct a high volume of chest, orthopaedic and other types of X-ray imaging exams on these players,” said Todd Stanley, Administrative Director of Radiology, Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. “Medical representatives of NFL teams appreciate our ability to deliver exceptional image quality while meeting their need for rapid delivery of these X-ray studies.”

The annual scouting Combine is an event where select college football players perform physical tests for evaluation by NFL coaches, general managers and scouts who are preparing to draft new players.
