New Georgia HTM association launched

“I am pleased to announce the launch of Georgia’s new Healthcare Technology Management Association, HTMA-GA,” writes HTMA-GA President Ben Lewis, MBA, in an email. “Our goal is to provide an avenue for professional development through education and networking for medical and imaging equipment personnel working in the state of Georgia and surrounding areas.”

The new association is actively seeking members and volunteers.

“HTMA-GA is a new organization, and as such, has a fluid mission and room for professionals and leaders like yourself to help mold HTMA-GA into one of the leading professional associations of its kind. Through your participation, we can be whatever you want us to be,” Lewis writes.

Membership is free and includes educational opportunities. All members will also have the power to shape the new association and help it serve the HTM community.

“By becoming an individual member, for free, you’ll qualify for upcoming free education in your local area, as well as webinars and access to CMS and TJC updates on our website,” Lewis explains. “When you become a member you will also have voting privileges in the association, which means that you will be able to influence the direction and goals of the organization. You can become an individual member by registering at https://htma-ga.org.”

“In addition to becoming a member I would also like to invite you to meet us at our Kickoff Breakfast at the MD Expo in Nashville at 8 a.m. on March 30, 2015. You can get a free VIP pass for the MD Expo, which is a $100 value, by visiting our website and contacting any sponsor located at the bottom of the home page,” Lewis adds.

All of this is free for individual members thanks to corporate memberships.

HTMA-GA receives funds through corporate memberships, which are $300 per year. This fee allows the corporations to send members one email per year that shares services that they can offer to meet medical and imaging equipment needs. Corporate members also get their logo and a link to their website at the bottom of the HTMA-GA website. Corporate members may also opt to sponsor additional events. Corporate members can register at https://htma-ga.org.

Financial accountability is extremely important to HTMA-GA.

Full financial details of credits and expenditures are available to all individual and corporate members, as well as the general public, by clicking on the “Financial Accountability” tab located on the website, Lewis says.

The group is seeking input to make HTMA-GA exactly what its members needs.

“After signing up, please visit the forums page and tell us what you are looking to get out of HTMA-GA. There is no better way to start off than to start off right,” Lewis says.
