A growing Dauphin County-based ultrasound services company has relocated from Highspire to Susquehanna Township.

Trisonics Inc. opened its new headquarters Monday at 3535 Walnut St.

The company was voted No. 28 in the Business Journal’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies list this year, and it is growth that pushed the company to move.

It simply outgrew its space in Highspire.

“We had desks in a big room with a bunch of ultrasound systems,” said Trisonics spokesman Zack Klien.

Although the company's main focus is on ultrasound services, the company also sells ultrasound systems. That means lots of inventory.

Now, instead of a 6,000-square-foot office, Trisonics is operating out of a 24,000-square-foot building that has been fully renovated.

"After moving throughout the region twice in the last 11 years, we are thrilled to be settled into our new facility in Harrisburg,” said Trisonics' President Stuart Latimer. “All of us at Trisonics couldn't be more excited for all of the new capabilities that we are gaining and will be able to offer to our customers in the coming years."

The renovations took just under a year to complete and cost an estimated $500,000. Lebanon County-based H.R. Weaver Building Systems was the contractor.

The move allowed the company to add a training facility where Trisonics engineers will teach courses for biomedical engineers from the hospitals whose ultrasound machines are serviced by Trisonics.

According to Klien, the training program is a new area of business that is helping to fuel the company’s growth.

There are 14 classes scheduled for 2016.

Trisonics currently has 32 employees. Future growth plans include hiring more engineers and customer relations managers, according to Klien.

Engineers and customer relations managers work out in the field, and the company services ultrasound systems in 13 states.
