Samsung’s WS80A with Elite Ultrasound System and CereTom-Equipped Mobile Stroke Unit Featured at Premier, Inc. Annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition

Samsung, an emerging leader in medical imaging technology, announced today that its WS80A with Elite Ultrasound System and CereTom-equipped Mobile Stroke Unit were selected to be featured at the prestigious Premier, Inc. Innovation Celebration. Samsung’s WS80A Elite and CereTom were among 14 medical innovations showcased in front of thousands of healthcare providers at the conference.

 

Premier’s annual Innovation Celebration occurred during the company’s 2016 Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition on June 21. The event recognizes advances in healthcare while highlighting industry suppliers committed to innovation and improving patient outcomes.

Clinicians and other Premier health system members selected both the WS80A with Elite Ultrasound System and the CereTom-equipped Mobile Stroke Unit to be showcased at the Innovation Celebration because of the products’ uniqueness, ability to have an impact on unmet clinical needs, and their potential to improve patient care.

 

Samsung’s WS80A with Elite is a premium ultrasound system designed to meet the needs of women’s healthcare. The system delivers exceptional image clarity by leveraging Samsung's S-Vision hybrid beamformer technology and S-Vue transducers. The system provides unique advanced volumetric imaging applications such as 5D and Crystal Vue to enhance user workflow and reproducibility. The WS80A with Elite integrates Samsung's innovative technologies featuring a 23-inch high-definition LED display, tablet menu interface and the reliability of a solid-state drive.

 

Samsung’s CereTom is an 8-slice, portable CT scanner that delivers high-quality diagnostic imaging in a variety of settings. The CereTom is a critical component of mobile stroke units (MSUs), providing advanced imaging capabilities including CT angiography. For many stroke patients, time is critical for administering treatment that can prevent or minimize brain injury, and MSU teams can act on diagnostic tests in the field. The CereTom-equipped MSU has proven to reduce time-to-treatment for stroke patients,1 as well as hospital length of stay.2
