HealthStratica names Bayer systems engineer as president and CEO

Pittsburgh startup healthStratica, a health care information technology products company, has named Amy Chaya as president and CEO, confirmed healthStratica founder Donald Taylor Wednesday.
 
"I selected her based upon her leadership, integrity, perseverance and ability to translate scientific and clinical research to the commercial marketplace," said Taylor, who previously served as president and CEO.
 
Chaya serves as a systems engineer at Bayer Healthcare, a position she'll continue to hold. "In her free time, so to speak, she will be running healthStratica," said Taylor.
 
Chaya graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where she received a Ph.D. in bioengineering in 2015, according to her online profile. Prior to working at Bayer, Chaya served as an innovation associate for bioStratica, an academic commercial translation accelerator firm, of which healthStratica is a subsidiary.
 
HealthStratica was born out of Pitt's Innovation Institute at the tail end of 2014. Its first product is called CaringTXT, which aims to curb binge drinking through sending text messages to college students.
 
The appointment was announced on Twitter Chaya's profile has been posted on healthStratica's website.
