In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog I would like to highlight the importance of attaching your questions to the product page or category. Recently, as I have been monitoring the forums I have noticed a larger amount of questions that are not attached to product pages or categories. This may not seem like that big of a deal since your question is still visible within the forums; however, it actually hinders you from getting a timely response to your question.

When you post a question to the forums and it is attached to either a product OR category, MedWrench automatically pings out email notifications to our users with similar equipment/categories listed to their Bench.  The purpose of the Bench is to allow MedWrench users the opportunity to follow specific equipment, manufacturers or categories listed on MedWrench. This is so that if any information is added they will automatically be kept in the loop. These notifications include the following:

  • New products are added to a specific category
  • New documentation is added to a product page (manuals)
  • New videos are added to a product page or category
  • FDA alerts are added to a product page or category

AND WHEN

  • Questions are asked concerning equipment you have benched

Often times, the reason MedWrench users bench equipment is because it is in fact the equipment that they work on/with the most. So, when a question is asked and it is attached to the product page or category, email notifications are being sent out to other users who work on the same equipment you are currently looking for help concerning. This ultimately increases your chances of not only receiving a response but receiving a response much faster than if someone just casually comes on MedWrench to browse the forums.

So, all in all, be sure to keep in mind attaching your question to the product or at the very least the category. The easiest way to do this is by asking the question directly from the product page. If MedWrench does not have the product listed on our site, you should click the Q&A Forums tab at the top of the homepage. This will redirect you to all forum posts from where you can now click on the category (and in some cases sub-category: Imaging>Ultrasound>Ultrasound Systems) located on the left hand side of the page. Once you are directed to the appropriate Q&A forums for the category or sub-category, simply click “Ask a Question” at the top of the page above the question posts. Taking these steps to make sure your question is attached to either the appropriate product page or category will ultimately help to get your question answered in much more timely fashion.
