In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog, I would like to feature Joseph Coughlin as our “Guru of the Month”. Joseph is a very active member of the MedWrench forums. You may have seen him answering questions under the username JFC, so if he has ever helped resolve any of your equipment issues be sure to thank him in the comments section! MedWrench is thankful for all of our users and we appreciate the extra mile you are all willing to go in order to help one another troubleshoot errors on your equipment. Thank you for everything that you do to help our MedWrench users Joseph!

How long have you been a member of MedWrench?

Since Feb 2014

What aspect of MedWrench do you utilize the most?

Reviewing previous communications regarding equipment I don’t have tech data on. It’s a lucky hit sometimes and can be frustrating as well.  Being the keeper of equipment it’s expected we know everything…  really? :-)

Are you aware that MedWrench now has a mobile site?  If so do you use it from your smart phone or tablet?

Yes I am and yes I do use it from my Android.

What do you like most about MedWrench?

I love the intuitive maneuverability when looking for information.

When I have some down time I just SURF the site and find stuff I have not been exposed to.  It helps by extending my understanding of clinical apps from a different type of equipments' approach.

Where are you currently employed?  What is your position there?

I am a Biomedical Specialist at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK.

What type of equipment do you work on the most?

I am the primary go to guy for all surgery equipment.  Tables, Lasers, ESUs, Endoscopy and Cardio. If it’s in surgery, it’s my responsibility exclusive of Imaging.

Hospital wide patient monitoring, hard wired, Tele and Wi-Fi.

What are some of the best aspects of your job?

I have a good amount of autonomy and decision-making responsibilities regarding the day-to-day direction of repair on equipment. I get to decide if we are going to do the repairs ourselves or if it is more efficient/cost effective for the OEM or 3rd party to do.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy Gardening and playing with my 2 boxer pups.

What is one word that describes you the best?

Reliable.
