Blurred image after unit is on for about 1 hour.

We have a 9600 OEC series that works great for about 1 hour. Then the image starts to get blurred. Any ideas of why this may be happening? Would love any input. Thank you!

Seems that your tube is getting old. The tube is probably getting hot and inputting "noise" into the system. Maybe having the system recalibrated might prolong the life of the tube. Also maybe reseat the connections and boards inside the wokstation. Make sure fans are working and that all filters are cleaned. There might be some overheating going on. Hope this helps.

First are the images blurry on live and stored? What about a known good image or one saved at turn on and reviewed later. If stored is clear and live blurred after an hour, check the II power supply voltages and make sure E1, E2, E3 are correct. [E2 has most effect on focus, E1 lesser at edges and E3 primarily size.

If blurred on all images on the monitor, check with a monitor daisy chained out of the blurry one. HV or focus voltage to CRT breaking down or drifting maybe. One or both monitors? Need a bit more detail to localize the area to suggest......

Is it blurred in both normal and mag II modes? My guess would be II power supply. Check if the supply voltages drift over time..

I would check the low voltage power supply that feed the II power supply and see if they are with staying within the spec.or the low voltage power supplies in the c-arm

What about images that were previously stored on the unit? are those blurry as well? I ask so that we can be sure the cart monitor is not the problem if only left or right monitor is bad, then the monitor is at fault. If a known good image is bad on both monitors, then the video processing in the cart may be at fault. But to really eliminate the II or IIPS when the failure is present, you need to compare the E1,2,3 voltages against the test certificate to see what "real" values should be for that specific II.

I think your problem is the workstation the image processor.

Are the images blurred on both monitors, how do the stored images from a previous cases look? You have a couple different things that could be going on here......you may just have a monitor going bad, you may have a Image Intensifier Power supply going bad or you may have some issues with image processing in the monitor cart.......check all power supplies first......heat could also be causing this problem inside the monitor cart, clean all filters and check all cooling fans......it has nothing to due with the x-ray tube so don't waste your time exploring that!
