Stryker equipment not allowed in our facility.. you should not either.

Ever since Stryker began to refuse to offer service manuals to any of their equipment, our facility has outlawed their products from our facility.  This is a safety issue in that if equipment fails to function, there is not chance for in-house biomeds to repair or resolve issues.  This caused an issue where a patient was put at risk because of a failure of a smartpump unit.  All stryker equipment was gathered up site-wide and removed from the facility.  Stryker will not be allowed to sell products (softgoods or hardware) at this facility until their attitude toward patient safety and propriety is resolved.  This also the case for other vendors which do not provide service literature for their products.

I suggest other facilities adopt this same policy so that the medical equipment manufactures get the concept of placing their profits above that of patient safety is wrong.
