Do not let yourself get bullied by GE.  They and the other OEMs do this so you will have to buy their batteries that are marked up 400%.  I know the inside story, they get a report of a few hospital's that are careless and capitalize on the issue saying this is why you should only buy our batteries.

The catch is this:  buy compatible batteries from other vendors BUT, you must do due dilligence on every battery pack.  You must have a maintenance program that tracks every battery.  You must also sample battery vendors and validate each manufacturer's battery before you buy a bulk supply.

You cannot fully trust any OEM or vendor on batteries, they all play games.  They will start sending their best and then when you get comfortable they send you their old stock that needs multiple conditioning cycles to get decent performance.

In this way, if you have any issue (vendor or OEM included) you can show inspectors that you have a responsible and effective program in place.  You will also save the hospital some big dollars and need to keep things like this in front of the CFO.

We have had it happen on a Dash 4000 years ago with Alpha source batteries possibly.  However, they are a supplier if GE's parts.

I've had the same experience with 4000 but now it's all gone.
