The IV pole manually raises and lowers the head, relays click and motor sounds as if it is 'jammed' ~ Thanx!
Advanta head section won't raise/lower
Hope this could help. press head LO button until you heard a clamping sound and until it stop. if it does not happen, open the cover, and check weather the driver block is going back n forth when you do hi/lo function. check also if it comes with the tosser arm (looks like arm sorry I dont know the technical part name for those). ensure that this two should go together when HI/LO function is pressed except that driver block will disengaged when you press CPR. try also check the CPR function.

Try checking the CPR mechanism, since as you've said you can hear motor running. open the cover plate, check also if the, I may call it driver block if its moving back & forth when you activate the head HI/LO button. if it goes, check weather the tosser arm is engaged with it. (it should be, except when CPR is activated), if no movements on this assembly, but still you hear the motor running, open the motor part and check its coupling. hope this help!

If its your HEAD section not moving, What position is it stuck at? I'm assuming down in the flat position. First, check the motor coupling. When old, they dry up and break apart. If your center coupling is intact, next step. Like said above, check that your Drive Block, is locked in to The CPR engagement assembly. (The 2 arm looking things that the 2 black cpr cables connect to. OR check the CPR SWITCH. It loves to collect dust and or get stuck, Thus engages your bad to act as if the CPR function has been engaged.

...it is moving, I check the couplings ~ intact. The CPR piece is working fine. I can actually raise and lower the head with the IV Pole crank...goes up and down just fine, though takes a while ~

It could be the motor capacitor. When they fail the motor can sometimes make a humming noise but its not enough to turn it. pretty easy to replace just take the panel from underneath the foot end off. head capacitor is the smaller one of the three in a row.

I think this is what is happening to my bed. I can hear the motor barley and then it stops it doesn't raise the head at all. It is completly flat. Where would I be able to see a piture of where and what the the motor capacitor is located and looks like.
I appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

The position is stuck at flat, I pushed the cpr piece but didn't seem to be the solution. When I press the up button I can hear the motor just sounds a little different than before a bit noisier then it stops and doesn't raise anything. Any other things I can check? Please help, my brother really needs his bed. Thanks!

I can also be the cpr switch. Might have a lot of dust or it it not sliding well.
