Hi, I'm repairing a Hill- rom 837 bed. I'm looking for the service manual and parts diagram or list, can anyone help. Thanks

If you go to "View Hill-Rom Century product details" above this answer, then click on Documents, you'll find both the operator and service manuals available for downloading. If you have any other questions, be specific and we'll give you specific answers. :-)

Don't work on these much so I know very little about them. I have a customer with an 837 that claims the bed drifts down when raised. Any thoughts on what needs to be replaced or adjusted to correct this problem? Thanks.

Well, the manual (the BOTTOM of the 3 choices if you go to the product details above) doesn't show this older cylinder like I've seen in a paper-only manual, but I'm pretty sure on the hi/low shaft you'll find a wound, square-cut spring that fits over a moderate-sized sleeve of polished (nickel-plated?) steel. This spring sometimes gets coated with oil or (groan) WD-40, sprayed all over to try to quiet down the screw shaft when the motor is operating. That spring never needs oiling. You can get rid of the oil by spraying some contact cleaner on the spring while the inside sleeve is spinning. Then you should notice the drifting stopping.

Thank you Ray. I appreciate your help. We'll take a look at that and see if it corrects the drifting problem. Cragg

There is a white Braker washer made of nylon between the brake block and the fixed brake that needs to be replaced when it loses its tolerance, a gap is created on the brake system so the spring brake get loose.
