You didn't mention any power levels, so I will go with 'standard' settings. Do you have more than one probe to try in the same port to see if the symptoms duplicate? Transducers that have been subjected to rapid deceleration (aka dropped) can build up heat quickly...if the symptoms repeat with a number of probes, then I would look towards the transducer interface...if it's one or two, but others work fine, the have the transducers analyzed.

A known issue with Zonares is what they call the headlight artifact. If this is what you are experiencing you will see an artifact in 2 areas. One at the side and the other in the middle of the image. We have had that on several units and they had to go to Zonare to resolve.
