I have a terason 2000 that was working fine until the hard drive ont he lapto died , we reinstalled the software and now the computer does not recognize the probe. Any ideas on how to fix this? Has to be a software problem because probe was working fine.

 Thanks

I tried that several times to conect and disconnect and reboot computer and does the same thing. It will tell me that probe is not recognized and will kick me out of the program.  I think it is somthing to do with the software or de configuation of the system. Any clues on how can I fix this.

Thanks,

I don't think that it is a sw So you will be in need to troubleshoot the probe on a nother machine or get new firewire cable and try maybe the cable get defects while removing the labtop

I am in the same position.  I don't see any other ideas here except disconnect and reconnect the firewire.  I had to buy an adapter for the firewire to USB, could that be part of the problem?  I have also considered drivers?  Anybody have other ideas?

Software OS requirement :

- You must have 32 bit windows (XP or Win7), with 64 bit OS it won't work

- If you use win7 32 bit then you have to use/select the Firewire Legacy driver

Hardware :

- If you use laptop (with Expresscard), then you have to use external power adapter that gives 12V and at least 1A current (+medical grade)

If it still does not work then first you have to check the device manager, where you must see terason 2000 device or maybe some not recognized firewire device.

Here you can see the firewire expresscards and the power adapter that I use for the Terason2000.

You have to use 1394A (not B) cards and as I experienced not all works fine, but these.

USB to firewire adapters will never work.

Medical power adapter should be used, like this (patient protecton against electric shock).
