NX not connecting to digitizer

After switching the digitizer on, the red light blinks endlessly. I hear the firewire connection "beep" when I plug in the cable and i can see the Agfa device listed in Device Manager, but the NX software says it can't find the digitizer. Do the 3-beeps indicating PMI and CAN nodes bootup, happen before the NX software connection or at the same time? I am not getting those beeps.

Check the services on windows, or do a Restart NX Completely, from the start menu. Did something happen to the machine? hard drive corruption?
