Force Sensor Calibration

During PM activities, the force sensor check failed and the pump recommended recaling the force sensor. However, when doing so, the instument cannot achieve a count within the max (554) and min (390) limits for the high standard. Has anyone experienced this same problem; if so, could it be repaired inhouse or must the system be sent in to the vendor for a sensor replacement?

Thank you.

The force sensor can be replaced in-house, but if you've not been into the plunger head before, be careful of the springs & know that everything has to be pretty tight inside that compact space.  Pay particular attention to the gear alignment also.

In my experience, plunger head repairs may try your patience, so just know that upfront.

After speaking with tech support, I learned that a new service manual has just come out for the MedFusion 3500. In it, a range is given as 12.6-17.4 psi for the force sensor check. By chance, could a fellow medwrencher please attach that guidance to the 3500's profile page? Smiths Medical will only sell manuals to customers; its techs are forbidden from even emailing excerpts directly from the book.

Thank you.
