Hello The problem we are having is with a Stryker SmartPump model 5920-11. Tourniquet. The Unit Starts up and while it goes through its diagnostics it alarms and gives error # 42. The less than helpful manual says it could be

#1  The battery charge is too Low

We have installed a new battery and allowed it to charge for 24 hours .

We get the same error message.

#2 Stryker says it must be sent in for repair at a flat rate of $1500.00 a new unit costs $2500.00

We have taken it apart and looked for obvious leaks and cleaned all valves and plug contacts .  We have no schematics or real service manual for this and Stryker will not provide them. We would like to know if someone has a solution for this problem or a link to have this resolved. Thank You for your time and effort . 

I have no solution, but I will say they arent the only Tourniquet on the market. also they don't sell parts so unless you have access to another unit to canibalize you are pretty much out of luck even if you find the problem.

Image Quest has had some luck repairing these units. They have sourced some of the parts directly from the manufacturer that made them for Stryker. They do component level repair on the electronics. They have a flat rate repair that is usually about half the OEM. You can contact them at 1-855-813-8100

Zimmer still sells a tourniquet. in fact they just came out with a new one.

For Stryker SmartPump Error 27 indicates Memory Error, to repair this you have to send the unit to our Company so we can repair this for fraction of the cost.

What is the cost to repair the memory issue to clear code 27. Is code 25 related?

Hello,   The cost to repair the Smart Pump is a flat fee that includes repair of the two error codes: 27, and 25 We will replace new processor, PPD, programmable protection processors, new e-prom and new backup battery. Thank You.
