No exposure, no error Optimus 50 generator

When depressing the two stage switch to the second position, the exposure never takes place. I hear the high speed rotor during prep and then pressing shoot, nothing. No error response. The ready light and high voltage indicators are showing green on the optimus console. Any suggestion would be appreciated as I am I volunteer in Tanzania and this very busy hospital has only a portable working at the moment.

I have acquired some additional information. It appears that the unit will expose correctly but only when using the above-table option. Under-table and vertical selection will not expose. This makes me think that there is a signal for the cartridge that is not making it back to the control section. Is anyone familiar with this problem?  Thanks.

It sounds like there is not a cassette present signal from under table Bucky releasing exposer.

Thanks Rick. I'm not sure but I assume there is some kind of limit switch for the under table cassette, is that correct?

When you press the test button on the overhead does it tell you anything?

Its most likely a sensing parameters depending on cassette size.

Thank you for all the replies and good ideas. I have found that the limit switch for the cartridge in both the table and vertical Bucky is bad. I've repaired the Switches and all is fine. Thanks again.

green donut on before attempted exposure? Should go out and come back on rotor up to speed, filament boost after that the only interlock is the grid!
