Steris 3080 surg table

Have Steris 3080 that is not charging batteries and no AC power indication on hand-control. Unit fuctions normally when plugged into to ac & using the side toggle switches. The power supply has been replaced.

Check the circuit breakers behind the manual pump foot pedal and the fuses in the power inlet port.

I was going to suggest the same thing also. But, I was wondering are you sure the batteries are good? I had a faulty battery once that caused me a lot of headache and time troubleshooting. Just assuming you checked that also.

Did you check the battery charger voltage? This voltage passes through the power suppy you replaced and must be present.

2nd - when you replaced the power supply did you replace the entire assembly (the lower or bottom and the upper assy) I ask this because some have replaced only one of the two items and they are no alway compatible with each other, so it's best to replace them as an assembly.

I am having a similar problem with 3080 Table. All override switches work . Manual foot lock switch works. However when I try to operate a tested working handcontrol, I hear the pump operating but none of the functions,( including floor lock )operates.

Any help in the right direction will be appreciated.

Some have mentioned the voltage selector switch assy. (Also known as the Schurter selector). I have experienced 2 recent issues with this selector: in each case the selector was intermitten OR the connections to the terminals were or BOTH. This switch assembly is available from Steris for about $35.00 and it has solved my issues with both tables. Be aware that the connections to this device may look like shrink wrapped soldered wires but are usually shrink wrapped mini female spade connectors. They can be loose, so I crimp them a bit when installing the new Schurter. Check the voltage to the control batteries with the AC disconnected and then connected: you should see and increase IF the batteries have an existing voltage greater than about 22 volts for the pair. I jumped in a couple of "shop" batteries with good terminal voltage to verify charging, when the existing batteries were low/bad. As a side note, before doing all this, be sure you have line voltage from the incoming AC at the connector just outside the power supply AND, if it is good, remove the AC and check the RESISTANCE of the wiring harness: I have had issues in the past with good voltage but, due to a high resistance in the incoming wiring harness, inadequate current available to run the charger. This only happened once but, until I replaced the wiring harness and power inlet module (comes as an assembly from Steris) I chased my tail alot. Good luck.
