Why is the BioZ no longer manufactured?

The BioZ machine I use in the office is very old, and in need of replacement. I contacted Sonosite and was informed they no longer make them. Can you tell me why not? have they been replaced by better technology? What kind? Sonosite was not able to provide answers

It looks like Cardio Dynamics was bought out by Sonosite. I am purely guessing here but I know with other companies when they merge somethings the companies make are duplicated by one company or the other and they discontinue one. If you are set on this machine you could contact a company who deals in used medical equipment like KMA Remarketing (800-411-4101).

I contacted Sonosite, who purchased Cardiodynamics a few years a go, and viewed the webpage you sent me to, the company made a business decision not to manufacture them anymore, and any machine I would like to purchase is refurbished.  My question is why, is there something better out there? The company I am employed by does not wish to spend a few thousand dollars for a machine which is considered obsolete by the only company that makes them, and I am frustrated, as a user of the machine, I would like a new one, it seems silly to purchase a machine that is no longer manufactured.

This ICG machine was poorly marketed by a small sales force.  When the technology was purchased, Sonosite apparently made a business decsion to discontinue this device, obviously on a bottom-line basis. This technology has been proven to save lives and influencie decisions concerning the treatment of persons with hypertension and heart failure.  In fact, it has been deemed so valuable that pacemaker manufacturers have built the technology into their pacemakers to provide ongoing data on patients' heart failure status.  Unfortunately, the average physician - and even the average cardiologist - has no experience with the use of the valuable data; therefore, patients are treated for heart failure, dyspnea and hypertension without a clue as to the patients' peripheral vascular resistance and cardiac output.  WIthout the ICG data, one simply makes decisions based upon blood pressure alone; therapeutic decisions based upon this inadequate measurement often results in a worsening of the patients' hemodynamic status.  I suggest you purchase a rebuilt ICG machine.

There is a company Cordex Systems that is developing a non-invasive blood flow measuring device that has much better technology.  They are in the pre-clinical trial phase so it is not currently availble.  Go to cordexsystems.com. Email mwhitt@cordexsystems.com.

Anyone aware of how to reset the password on a Cardio Dynamics BioZ EKG machine? CDIC password does not work, so I'm guessing that it has been changed, and not documented.
