Steris 444 printer problem

I have a 444 with a printer issue. Some lines are not printed completely. It will print several characters on the left side but as the print head moves right, it will stop printing until the next line. It may print one letter or half a line of text but not all the info. The printer has been replaced, but that wasn't it. Any ideas?

Possibly bad or wrong paper. I had a facility use a slightly different thermal paper. Are they feeding the paper through the wind up real or just letting it hang so they can rip it off easy?

Try what they describe in the Service Bulletin below. We did this on a Synergy Washer that we were having similar printer problems with. It appears to have corrected our problem.

SERVICE BULLETIN

Product: Reliance Series Washers Bulletin No.: 03008-I

Section: Decontamination Supplement No.: D-96

Approved: Date: 02/01/03

Subject: 3000 Control Power Supply Electrical Connectors - Application of Nyogel

SITUATION: Intermittent power failures and display faults.

DESCRIPTIVE

CAUSE: Intermittent faults are usually caused by poor electrical contact connection.

ACTION: Apply Nyogel 760G to low voltage electrical connections, STERIS part number

P764329-907. This product should also be used on any low voltage electronic

connection point where intermittent faults are suspected. This would include power

supply connections and DC cable connections.

Proper application is important and should be as follows:

• Do not use Nyogel on 120 VAC connections.

• Do not use cotton swabs to apply Nyogel, as the cotton strands will actually

cause an increase in resistance in the connection.

• Using the applicator tube, completely fill the socket in a connector. Do not apply

to the pin.

• After application, plug and unplug the connector two or three times. This

distributes the Nyogel and cleans the contact surfaces.

We have a Steris 444 and problem with printer (less than half line of characters) and also with a flashing display.

I just clean all connectors for printer and display with contact cleaner and it's work fine.

Thank you for your help.
