Unit shuts down during use with a "ma on in error message" as usual can get it to replciate when service tech is on site. Any help is appreciated

I had the same thing about a month ago. The problem was when I greased the anode and cathode parts. One was not tightened down all the way and came a little loose over time. Check and make sure they are tightened down first.

It sounds like an arc. Check for communication errors in the event log.
If you suspect arcing internal to the x-ray tube or HT transformer, cover the II with lead, fluoro 10 min at 120kv/ 0.2 ma . You can hear it arc. You may even get your error.
As others have mentioned, do check the tube and transformer HT connections for carbon first, especially the cathode cable tube side.
