Manufacturers' Recommendations on Preventative Maintenance for your Defibrillators

Here are a few recommendations for the manufacturers of defibrillators.

In multiple occurrences the FDA states to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for defibrillator PMs which are as follows:

  • Zoll M Series - the Zoll M Series service manual states that these devices must be checked by a certified technician at least once every 6 months.
  •  Lifepak 12 or 15 – the Physio-Control (Medtronic) Lifepak service manual states that these devices must be checked by a certified technician at least once every 12 months.
  • Philips MRx – the Philips MRx service manual states that these devices must be checked by a certified technician at least once every 12 months.
