According to an article recently published by Medical Dealer Magazine, Siemens Healthcare is now offering Strategic Consulting solutions for accountable care in order to help hospital and health system customers meet health care reform objectives, such as hospital Value Based Purchasing programs, reduction of Preventable Re-admissions and reduction of Healthcare Acquired Conditions.

In theory, Siemens Strategic Consulting should help to aid its clients in the process of identifying the critical systems and processes that contribute to achievement of these objectives. It is believed that by optimizing care environments through a variety of program dashboards and workflows, best practices will be embedded within health care organization processes.  The idea is that this will help hospitals find more sustainable approaches to providing care.

According to Siemens, the Value Based Purchasing (VBP) Solution assists hospitals in identifying gaps in current processes as well as technologies, then recommends changes and establishes performance metrics that have a more direct impact on fiscal incentive payments from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Do you think Siemen’s new Strategic Consulting solutions will have a major impact on health reform?
