Course Overview

The course will provide service training and an operational overview of the 4-, 16- and 64-slice systems, including: installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, diagnostic procedures, troubleshooting and repair. The course compromises equal time in classroom sessions and in the IMES Test Bays for hands-on exercises. All scanners are here on site, side-by-side. Each console and generator type is represented, making the IMES training the most comprehensive program available and better preparing you for the field.

 

Course Objectives

Upon completion of our training course the service engineer will be able to:

  • Perform basic system operations to include running test scans and using diagnostic software.
  • Identify and know the locations of hardware components located within the gantry, console, REC box, CPU box and the patient couch.
  • Installation overview, performance checks and system verification.
  • Perform proper PMs: cleaning, calibrations, and slip ring maintenance; ensure systems are operating according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Perform system software load and system connectivity through DICOM.
  • Troubleshoot and repair major system components using diagnostic software, service manuals and error logs.
  • Replace and repair major system components to include X-ray tube, X-ray generator and detector.
  • Follow all safety precautions and procedures when servicing these systems.
