In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog I would like to highlight some tips from Hobie Sears, Senior Territory Manager at Trisonics Inc. Today, we mostly talked about the importance of System Backups which will be detailed below. Hobie is always eager to help out by sharing his knowledge and expertise so I cannot thank him enough for his time! Be sure to check out Trisonics for all of your ultrasound needs.

Why you should always have System Backups:

System Backups may not be the most glamorous thing engineers/BMET’s do on a daily basis, but it can really save time in the long run. In a recent situation without presets and backups, it took an extra 3 hours for Hobie to get the system back up and running. It may take a few minutes to create a backup; however, a few minutes one day can certainly save you hours of time down the road.

Make sure you have your system backed up, presets and options backed up, as well as having the IP address of the unit readily available. A good tip would be to write the actual IP address on the CD or DVD.  This is something that is overlooked frequently, but can come to your rescue should the situation arise.
