New ATS Standards Spur Spirometer Upgrades

Back in the year 2000, many occupational health nurses upgraded their spirometry equipment to hand-held or stand-alone instruments.  In 2005, the American Thoracic Society revised their spirometer standards with regard to accuracy and repeatability of tests.  The net effect of these developments is that many occupational health nurses are currently seeking to upgrade their now-aging spirometry equipment.
