In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog, I would like to announce David Mills as the winner of our October Join 5 Contest. David will be receiving a FREE pair of BOSE headphones for his participation in our contest. Enjoy David!
David is the Manager of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas Children's Hospital where he has fulfilled this role for the past 3.5 years. After earning his B.S. degree in Bioengineering from Texas A&M University, David worked for Siemens Medical as an X-Ray and MR Field Service Engineer and later for GE Healthcare in multiple roles from Account Manager to Repair Manager for 15 years. Now he is one of five Biomedical Engineering Dept. managers. Volunteering is a very important part of David's life. In his current role at Texas Children’s, David says he is "blessed to be able to volunteer each week as a Baby Holder in the Newborn Center" or as a "Patient Pal playing games - especially UNO - with kids in the hospital." David has also built over 40 wheelchair ramps through his connection to TexasRamps.org. He and his wife just celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary and they have a 10 year old son who currently wants to be a Geologist.
When I asked David what his favorite thing about MedWrench was and why he utilized our website, he replied "My favorite thing about MedWrench is having a realtime connection, customized to my needs, through email to so many other folks in our field. Whether it is trying to find a new home for some equipment we just retired or reading through the requests for assistance, MedWrench is such a comprehensive, valuable tool."
