MedWrench Q&A with Manny Roman from ICE

In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog, I want to share a brief Q&A I had with Manny Roman, Founding Member at Imaging Community Exchange – ICE.  Manny Roman has over 35 years in the healthcare technology management and service industry. He has worked for manufacturers and independent service organization in training and leadership development. See below for the Q&A.

Did I recently hear that you are involved in a new HTM community?

Yes, and we are very excited about it. We have had a great response from the HTM industry.

What does ICE stand for and is it geared towards all HTM professionals or is it geared towards a certain type of HTM professional?

ICE is the acronym for Imaging Community Exchange. It was initially intended for the diagnostic imaging equipment service and management community. When we launched it last October, we found that professionals were signing up from the biomedical community as well as Independent Service Organizations and Asset Management professionals, equipment manufacturers and even a couple of radiologists.

We were taken by surprise that professionals from the entire HTM industry wanted to be a part of  ICE the community. So it is now open to everyone interested in becoming a part of, and adding value to the community.

Is it free to register to become a member of ICE?

ICE will always be free to join. Although we will soon be posting members only content on the Igloo as we call it, it will remain free to members. We invite everyone to visit the Igloo at www.imagingigloo.com, explore and join. It’s FREE.

How many members does ICE currently have?

We presently have 350 members from all parts of the HTM community. The majority of members however, are mostly at-hospital service professionals.

What are the advantages of being an ICE member?

Members can visit continuously updated career advice, professional and personal development content, industry, regulatory and technology news, blogs, forums, Manny’s Moans, and even some jokes.

Does ICE attend trade shows? If so, what shows are on your agenda for the rest of 2015?

We, of course, participate in the MD Expos including the MD imaging Expo scheduled this July in Indianapolis. We are really looking forward to the MD Expo in October here in our home town: Vegas Baby!

Additionally, we have been asked to conduct presentations at regional and state associations and societies such as South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and others.

Does ICE partner with any other HTM communities?

We are in the process of establishing an ICE advisory council to help determine the next step in the ICE evolution to ensure that we continue to provide value to our members. The advisory council will ensure that ICE will continue to be a member-driven community.

We really like what MedWrench provides for the HTM community and look forward to finding ways to mutually enhance value to all our members. We will also reach out to other communities to find ways to provide complementary services to the entire HTM industry.
