In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog, I want to share the latest Q&A I had with Ted Lucidi from Bayer Multi Vendor Service (MVS), concerning a new offering for customers using GE’s 6T/6Tc family of ultrasound transducers. Bayer MVS is a third-party service provider, offering a wide range of quality repair capabilities at a fraction of the OEM’s cost. See below for the Q&A.

Ted Lucidi of Bayer Multi Vendor Services

Q: I hear Bayer Multi Vendor Service (MVS) has a new ultrasound transducer service for the GE 6T/6Tc – what is MVS providing?

A: Yes, we recently launched full repair capabilities on the GE 6T/6Tc family of ultrasound transducers and are pleased to be the only third-party radiology service provider offering this option.

Q: So what does this mean for radiology sites with a transducer from the GE 6T/6Tc family?

A: Until now, repair providers have offered limited repair services that address acoustic failures on the GE 6T/6Tc family of TEE transducers. These limitations have left radiology sites either without a transducer or without an alternative to market-priced transducer exchange. Our new service offering may allow you to repair your 6T/6Tc, rather than replace it. Bayer is currently offering to evaluate GE 6T/6Tc transducers for free – waiving the traditional evaluation fee.

Q: How is Bayer able to offer complete repair of the GE 6T/6Tc transducer?

A: Bayer has a committed, highly trained, engineering development team that works to develop unique, cost effective repair solutions. We’re pleased to be the first to have developed the process to provide comprehensive service on the GE 6T/6Tc transducer.

Q: What type of warranty is there for this type of repair?

A: Repairs for the 6T/6Tc transducer will fall under our standard TEE warranty term, which is 90 days.

Q: How else can the Bayer MVS team help my organization?

A: For those unfamiliar with Bayer MVS, we have been in business for 20 years, and provide service engineers, radiologists and hospital systems with high quality ultrasound transducer, MRI coil, CR system and dry film printer repairs. We also offer extensive transducer and coil loaner programs so you can be up and running the next day. Our Customer Care and field-based Service Sales teams are extremely knowledgeable about all of our services and provide outstanding assistance.

Bayer MVS was the first to offer TotalREPAIR –a 100% repair solution guarantee –which is available on 129 popular ultrasound transducer models. Unlike other repair providers, we will guarantee a repair solution prior to assessing your transducer. We also continue to expand our capabilities with the new Philips X7-2t family of TEE transducer service. Currently, we are able to repair approximately 80% of X7- 2t transducers that come through our doors.

Q: What do I need to do to have Bayer MVS evaluate a GE 6T/6Tc probe for repair?

A: You can reach Bayer MVS by calling 1-844-MVS-5100 or emailing mvscustomercare@bayer.com. Our Customer Care team can help you take advantage of this industry-leading capability.
