How long have you been a member of MedWrench?

I have used MedWrench for several years throughout my previous career. Now that I am a Certified Repair Technician, I recently rejoined a member so that I can be more active in the community.

What aspect of MedWrench do you utilize the most?

I love the Q & A Forums. It has been my experience that your problem with your machine is almost never unique. So searching through the forums can bring you some great information or at the very least a great connection to a expert or parts.

Are you aware that MedWrench now has a mobile site? If so do you use it from your smart phone or tablet?

I did not know that! But I will certainly be using that as a source of information!

What do you like most about MedWrench?

The connections with other biomeds is important.  MedWrench is a great source of knowledge. You can never have too many connections.

Where are you currently employed? What is your position there?

Universal Medical Lasers in Palm Bay Fl! I am one of the Certified Laser Repair Technicians here in shop. We have many more out in the field. It doesn't matter where you are in the U.S. we will come to you if you need our expertise.

What type of equipment do you work on the most?

We work on all types of lasers, cosmetic, surgical, tattoo removal, hair removal, dye lasers, ophthalmic.

In your current position do you purchase parts?

I do place some of the orders for the other techs. IF one of us has heard of a better parts place, we try to shop around prior to.

What is your role in the process?

I assist in the cost and availability aspect, meaning I do majority of the shopping to ensure we get the best product and price.

What are some of the best aspects of your job?

All of the education. Not to sound nerdy, but I have a passion for learning about new techniques for testing out the lasers I work on. I am always going to be learning. I think that is why I choose to be in the repair field. There will always be something broken and there will always be somebody who will fix it differently from yourself. I had 3 brilliant mentors, Herb Deigl, Wayne Delgado, and John Pleska, when I started here and each one taught me a completely different way to understand each machine. Because of this I was able to meld all their techniques into one of my own. And I feel I have a better chance at understanding any problem I run across because of this.

What are your hobbies?

I love reading, or lounging around my house with my daughter, and just generally spending time with my family.

What is one word that describes you the best?

Hardworking. I have always worked hard. No matter the task at hand. Growing up I was told I could be anything I wanted; I just had to work hard to get there. And I have. I am the sole female technician in my area. And none of this would have happened without my family and my hard work.
