In today’s edition of the MedWrench blog, I would like to feature Christopher Walters as our “Guru of the Month”.  Chris is an active member of the MedWrench forums and is a big help to our community. You may have seen him answering questions under the username “CWalters”, so if he has ever helped resolve any of your equipment issues be sure to thank him! MedWrench is thankful for all of our users and we appreciate the extra mile you are all willing to go in order to help one another troubleshoot errors on your equipment. Thank you for everything that you do to help our MedWrench users Chris!

How long have you been a member of MedWrench?

I originally signed up many years ago but start utilizing it most in 2013.

What aspect of MedWrench do you utilize the most?

I definitely use the forums the most.

Are you aware that MedWrench now has a mobile site? If so do you use it from your smart phone or tablet?

I was not aware, but I prefer to use the desktop version via my laptop.

What do you like most about MedWrench?

I would have to say the community.

What do you think about the new version of MedWrench for your desktop? Are there any changes you think we should make? If so, what are they?

I like that the sign in bug has been fixed. I'd be happier if there were a simple location to upload and find service, maintenance, tech and operational manuals. This idea of a repository of direct questions is nice but impractical by itself. As Biomeds we need 2 things, a place for direct questions, when we know the question, that aren't covered in or easily drawn from the manuals, and manuals when we need schematics, part numbers and for when we don't have a direct question and need more of a theory of operation to understand the system better and troubleshooting.

Where are you currently employed? What is your position there?

Medical Arts Support Corp, Senior Field service Engineer, specializing in autoclaves, washers, scope reprocessors, surgical and procedure tables, etc.

What type of equipment do you work on the most?

Everything except radiology, respiratory and anesthesia

In your current position do you purchase parts?

I do not. My office handles that.

What is your role in the process?

I recommend or request what parts to order.

What are your hobbies?

Architecture, Snowboarding, tinkering

What is one word that describes you the best?

Adaptive

What advice do you have to anyone just graduating and entering in the HTM Field?Be sure to familiarize yourself with how to utilize MedWrench!
