MD EXPO 2018 - Seattle Review

Were back from MD Expo! We enjoyed exhibiting at MD Expo in Seattle, WA and meeting tons of attendees. The event also provided us with the perfect opportunity to network with peers!

I recently had the pleasure of attending the MD Expo in Seattle! Though it was a chilly and rainy weekend, we all had tons of fun! MD Expo provides attendees with the chance to meet others in the HTM industry, network with friends and colleagues, and learn valuable information. Classes also provide education opportunities and CE credits for participating members! Expo hall creates the chance to learn about what companies in the industry are up to, new products, opportunities, equipment, and more. The Expo kicked off with a welcome reception, with food, drinks, music, and more time to get to network! The welcome reception was sponsored by MedWrench and Select Biomedical

MedWrench handed out a new swag items, MedWrench socks never seen before (click here for a behind the scenes look of MedWrench at the MD Expo)! We also promoted a Ben Calibrating Photo competition. Two winners took great images of Ben Calibrating enjoying the Seattle weather and were awarded with $25 VISA gift cards for their creativity!

Our overall winner (photo below) was awarded with a $100 Visa gift card. Thank you everyone who participated. We always appreciate and accept Ben Calibrating images and feature them on our social media pages and in Technation magazine! We choose winners every month and the best photo wins lunch on us for their department. Learn more here.

A few additional MD Expo highlights

The CBET review was taught by David Scott, CABMET Certification Study Group Organizer, Children’s Hospital Colorado. This allowed MD Expo attendees to study with peers and review information for the upcoming test.

Our keynote address was presented by Kelly Proctor, CHFM, CHSP, CHOP, Physical Environment Sector Lead, DNV-GL Healthcare. The keynote, titled “DNV-GL Healthcare Presents Understanding the Physical Environment Standards” gave a brief overview of the challenging environment standards of the DNV-GL as well as what is required in order to meet these standards.Women's Happy Hour at MD Expo Seattle 2018

Other great presentations took place, like Mara Paré, Senior Director, Client Solutions, PartsSource who taught “Redefining the Clinical Engineering Supply Chain” or Casey Greene, Educational Development Specialist, Siemens Healthineers who discussed “How to Build a Biomed/Technologist Partnership for Better Service Efficiency”.

We were honored to sponsor a MD Expo Women’s networking event where we met amazing women from all over. Our team received helpful input and ideas for topics of a women's panel we are planning for next MD Expo. If you are a woman in HTM and are interested in being a part of this panel, email Alex, here. To stay connected with women in the industry, join the WOW - HTM (World Organization of Women in Healthcare Technology Management) Facebook group, here.

MD Expo hosted a wrap party sponsored by our friends at Summit Imaging at the Tavern Hall. We had a great time with food, drinks, and games.

Just in case you missed us LIVE, we chatted with CIT's CEO, Bill Bassuk. He taught viewers all about education opportunities at CIT and why you should consider an online school for continuing education! He also mentioned the scholarship they are awarding soon! Check out the video, here.

We also chatted with our friends at Repairmed about their company and the benefits they can offer their customers. View the video, here.
