Intro to X-ray

Technical Prospects’ Intro to X-Ray online course is a modular based, self-paced course that should be able to be completed within a month’s time-frame from start date.

Course Description:

This knowledge-based online course is designed to prepare someone for higher level imaging courses. Upon completion, the student will have a working knowledge of terminology and principles of the following areas as it applies to medical x-ray imaging.

Prerequisites:

It is highly recommended that interested students have the following Knowledge/Experience;

• 
  
  • Completion of a two year electronics course of study

OR

• Have the equivalent, hands-on service experience in the Biomedical or Imaging fields.

Outcome:

Upon completion of this training course, students will;

• Learn where and how x-ray imaging began and how it is impacting our lives today
• Understand the basic circuity that make up an x-ray generator
• Identify the basic test equipment used in servicing imaging equipment
• Acquire knowledge of the items/processes leading to image production;
  • How x-rays are generated
  • The x-ray beam, image formation and factors affecting it
  • How images are produced, developed and recorded in both the analog and digital platforms
• Define image quality and the factors that effect it
• Gain the foundation of the troubleshooting concepts used while working on x-ray systems
