January Guru Of The Month - Amy Proctor
Amy Proctor, MLS generalist for Mercy Health, is one of our winner's of the "Are you the next MedWrench Guru" contest. She was selected among many that applied for the position as one of our official MedWrench Guru team members. We are excited to have her on our team and highlight her as our January Guru of the Month.

1. How long have you been a member of MedWrench?
I joined MedWrench in 2017 when I looking for analyzer information for 4 new laboratories I was writing procedures for.
2. Where are you currently employed? What is your position there?
I recently just changed jobs! I was previously a laboratory supervisor but missed the bench so much, I changed jobs. I now work for Mercy Health at Lourdes Hospital as an MLS generalist.
3. What aspect of MedWrench do you utilize the most?
I look for manuals the most.
4. What equipment is currently on your bench?
Sysmex hematology, Cobas 6000, Celldyn, Vitros chemistry, POCT iStat, Alere Triage
5. What do you like most about MedWrench?
I like that when in a pinch and I’ve looked everywhere for a manual, I have been very successful in finding them on MedWrench!
6. What type of equipment do you work on the most?
Mostly, Vitros Chemistry and Cobas Chemistry.
7. What/how do you stay informed in your career? Do you attend continue education courses or industry events?
I enjoy reading publications with up to date changes in the field or new tests and procedures. I have not attended any events yet, but would love to!
8. What are your hobbies?
I recently took on bow hunting and I love it! I enjoy traveling and the beach!
9. What is one word that describes you the best?
Honest
10. What advice do you have to anyone just graduating and entering into the HTM field?
Never stop trying to learn something new. There is so much to learn in this industry, engage as much as you can in it, that will help you in the long run.
11. What else should we know about you?
I’m a mom of three and the mom to one sassy basset hound. I will be working on my Master’s degree in the fall of 2019.
