Holy Cross Hospital (Trinity health) and Senior biomedical engineer
3. What aspect of MedWrench do you utilize the most?
Service manuals, Blogs and resources
4. What equipment is currently on your bench?
980 Covidien ventilator, Philips epiq 7g ultrasound
5. What do you like most about MedWrench?
Forums, Bulletin Board
6. What type of equipment do you work on the most?
Ultrasound , Portable x-ray, and Ventilators, and General biomed devices
7. What/how do you stay informed in your career? Do you attend continue education courses or industry events?
Local biomed association, webinar Wednesday (TechNation), MDEXPO, company trainings.
8. In your current position do you purchase parts or equipment? What is your role in the process?
Yes, identifying and requesting Parts for repair.
9. Did you know MedWrench has a ecommerce platform? Is this something that you would use in your role?
Yes, I am using it already
10. What are your hobbies?
In my free time I like Volunteering, taking classes, and simply reading books
11. What is one word that describes you the best?
I never give up until I get something right and hard work doesn’t bother me. I actually like it. I enjoy facing challenges.
12. What advice do you have to anyone just graduating and entering into the HTM field?
In this field, you have stay up to date and well equipped with information technology, network security, have a solid background of electronics, and understand how engineering works in medicine because biomedical engineering is a bridge between medicine and engineering. We all know how fast technology evolves. Every day, medical technology changes and has continued to change the healthcare industry and in the near future technology will be moving toward artificial intelligence. What we have today in healthcare facility is simply amazing compared to what we had decade ago and in the near future medical device will no doubt be unrecognizable from what we have today.
13. What else should we know about you?
I would also like to add that I am currently involve in nonprofit organization to help the African nation in terms of educational material with Books For Africa (www.booksforafrica.org) and medical supply with Project C.U.R.E (https://projectcure.org).
