August Guru - Courtney Nanney Courtney has never seen a boring day throughout his 35+ year career in the biomedical engineering field! As a National Quality Manager in Clinical Engineering for Catholic Health Initiatives, Courtney’s main responsibility is data analysis to determine the best Alternate Equipment Management (AEM) strategy. Currently on his bench is a computer with 3 monitors. Courtney checking an ESU in Central America with a light bulb (Don’t do this at home!!)

To grow in his career, Courtney stays involved with AAMI, the Kentucky Association for Medical Instrumentation (KAMI), and attends MDExpos. MedWrench has been a go-to resource for finding manuals since 2015 and shares that MedWrench “is a great forum to get information.” To those just graduating or entering the HTM field, Courtney can’t help but recommend to “keep learning. Ask questions, and look for better ways to do things.”

Outside of his career, Courtney enjoys bicycling, backpacking, canoeing, and swimming. Enthusiasm keeps him driven. “It’s a blessing to be in the HTM field. It’s been a joy to train technicians in the Middle East, Central America, and around the states.”

Thank you, Courtney, for your dedication to the HTM field! We appreciate your input and wisdom in our community.
