This course covers the major system components that makeup the Somatom Perspective and Scope Family system platforms. It does not cover the Emotion, Sensation, Definition or any other Siemens CT systems.

Course Description:

Technical Prospects’ Siemens Perspective/Scope Training Course a 5-day comprehensive course designed to advance the knowledge, capabilities, and careers of field service and technical support personnel. During the course students will engage in discussions, peer learning sessions, and labs centered on system design and core principles. The course will also focus on advanced problem-solving techniques.

Prerequisites:

It is highly recommended that interested students have the following Knowledge/Experience;

  • Completion of a Radiation Training
  • 2+ years of industry/military experience working with CT equipment OR
  • Attendance of an OEM’s Introduction to CT or CT Basics course (Certificate may be requested)
  • Personal Dosimeter

  • X-ray control flow chart: understand the wiring diagram of the X-ray control signal flow

  • CAN BUS Topology: The Control System of the SIEMENS SOMATOM and its specifics in the E-Line platform
  • Control System flowchart: Understand the principle and the purpose of the control system
  • Gantry MAS and MAR Functions
  • Gantry-Rotating control system analysis and signal flow
  • Gantry-Stationary control system analysis and signal flow
  • The SOMATOM Bus system, MCB’s and CAN Interfaces
  • The Control System software interface to Somaris (MSM) and E-Telegrams, Message Descriptions and introduction to Eventlog analysis for Control System Errors
  • Control system Firmware: understand and Analyze FW Table State Diagram while understand the practical impact of FW update and Flash load

  • Gantry Mechanics and interdependencies
  • Gantry Cooling: The Common Frequency converter for Tilt/PHS-V/Cooling
  • The NO-CAN communication flow
  • Comparison between Colling systems for SOMATOM Scope and Perspectives
  • Gantry Tilt system: Block Diagram, Signal flow, Collision Tilt-PHS and common field reported problems
  • Gantry Rotation and Servo Controller: SOMATOM Perspective
  • Gantry rotation Drive: Block diagram, signal flow and replacement example
  • Tension wheel service and adjustment
