What do you do when your father is a diesel mechanic and your mother is a nurse? Combine the two, and become a BMET! That's exactly what Daryl Painter of Carolina East Medical Center did. In his position as BMET, Daryl is in charge of several tasks, including researching and ordering inventory parts for himself and his colleagues in the shop.

Daryl has been a MedWrench member for about 8 years and says its the "go-to place for tech tips, manuals and connecting with other techs." MedWrench specifically helps Daryl find service manuals for equipment he has for his AEM. Currently in his bench, he has the Mindray T1 and CareFusion LVP, which is the equipment he works on the most.

Daryl's advice for anyone just graduating and entering the HTM field is to "find a shop or company that you work well with everyone and don't be afraid to ask senior techs for advice." To stay informed in his BMET career, he attends as many service training classes as he can, including his own state's Biomedical Associate Symposium.

In his free time, Daryl enjoys NASCAR, guns, shooting and DIY projects around his house. He is also a proud single father of a daughter graduating high school!

Thank you, Daryl, for your dedication to the HTM field! We appreciate your input and wisdom in our community.
