Chace Torres, host of the Bearded Biomed podcast, has had quite the journey to getting to where he is today. From serving in the United States Army as a 68A, to earning a bachelor’s in business management, the list of highlights for Chace’s career could be a whole blog itself. A few additional highlights of his career include collaborating with TechNation and MedWrench, being able to take care of such a large area of medical facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, as well as getting to mentor and train new biomeds.

One of the most recent highlights of his career is creating the “Better Biomed” podcast. Created to provide a weekly dose of biomed content, Chace sees big opportunities for his podcast.

“I wanted to contribute to the field in a way no one else has. Lending my voice to an audience for the sole purpose of promoting the biomed field, providing concerns and sharing some fun stories along the way. I will continue to set myself apart by giving you who I am in each episode as I work to make society in general aware we biomeds exist. My podcast is here to uplift/showcase other biomed techs, initiatives, building the next generation, and fighting for the right to repair,” Chace says.

One of the recent podcasts includes sitting down with “the man, the myth, the legend” David Braeutigam. The two discuss all things biomed and take a dive into a multitude of topics. Click here to listen: Bearded Biomed Interview David Braeutigam

Some of the Chace’s goals for the podcast include turning it into a brand so that the HTM community can continue to reach, inspire and possibly mentor the next generation. The goal includes building further partnerships and hopefully someday getting enough influence or meeting the right person to pitch a “Scrubs” like biomed TV show! As Chace says, “We have had plenty of nursing shows. It’s time for biomeds to have some shine!”

At the end of the day, Chace loves being an HTM professional and working alongside his biomed brothers and sisters. He says, “being able to bring the biomed world into the general light is rewarding in its own right. I appreciate each and every one of you for your hard work and doing it as the unsung hero. If things go the way I plan, we won't remain unsung for very long.”

We cannot wait to see what the future holds for Chace and the Bearded Biomed podcast. You can listen to his podcasts on every listening platform you could possibly think of!
