WakeMed Clinical Engineering Three-peats

The WakeMed Health & Hospitals Clinical Engineering team has been recognized by the North Carolina Biomedical Association as the 2026 Shop of the Year.

WakeMed Health and Hospitals Director of Clinical Engineering George Reed shared the exciting news on LinkedIn.

“I’m incredibly proud to share that the WakeMed Health & Hospitals Clinical Engineering team has been recognized by the North Carolina Biomedical Association as the 2026 Shop of the Year!” he posted. “What makes this recognition even more special is that this is the third time our team has received this honor over the years – a tremendous testament to the consistency, dedication, expertise and teamwork of the people who make up this organization.”

Reed stressed that this is a team award.

“This award represents far more than a title. It reflects the work our team does every day behind the scenes to ensure the medical technology supporting our patients and clinicians is safe, reliable and available when it matters most,” he added. “This award belongs to the entire team. I’m honored to lead such an exceptional group of professionals and incredibly proud of what they continue to accomplish for WakeMed and our patients.”
