The C-Arm, an imaging scanner intensifier aptly named for its design, has become known as a highly adaptable resource for a variety of surgical and nonsurgical procedures. Since their introduction into the medical community over five decades ago, C-Arms have undergone several technology updates, and paved the way for less invasive procedures.

C-Arms can be either fixed or mobile. Recently, it has been reported that more progressive hospitals are trending towards the use of fixed C-Arm models in their operating rooms due to a higher number of collaborative surgeries; however, mobile C-Arms have opened the door for more economical outpatient procedures in hospitals and doctor offices, and in remote areas of the world where fixed C-Arms aren’t available.

Some of the best C-Arms on the market today are the GE OEC 9900 Elite, the Siemens ARCADIS Avantic, and the compact and versatile Ziehm Solo. Quality refurbished C-Arms can be purchased from dealers such as Soma Technology, Government Liquidation, and others.
