We have discussed the importance of maintaining your diagnostic equipment, specifically your ultrasound systems, from time to time, but since the importance of this industry is ever growing we think it is as important to continually update you with tips and tricks to help with your preventative maintenance schedules.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when servicing your ultrasound systems:

  • Set up a reminder in your calendar to clean your filters, trackball and mouse – Heat and dust is the number one enemy to electronics.
  • Whenever a Preventative Maintenance (PM) check is performed on your system, be sure to save copies of the scan shots so that you can refer to them at a later date. This is an invaluable tool to help when there are image quality concerns.
  • With every major change of the season (spring/fall) be sure to have the power evaluated coming out of the wall to your electronics. There should be less than 1vpp AC ripple (noise) from neutral to ground and at least 107VAC to 117VAC from not to ground/neutral.
