DESCRIPTION
The ophthalmic industry’s premier YAG laser.

The Ellex Ultra Q is the ophthalmic industry’s premier YAG laser for capsulotomies and iridotomies. With a firing rate of up to 3 hertz, it is the fastest photodisruptor available. The Ultra Q features a custom-designed laser cavity tested to deliver an exceptional lifespan, as well as a fine, two-point focusing system that provides a level of precision other YAG lasers simply cannot achieve.                                      The newest IOL materials are often more sensitive to laser energy, which poses new challenges when performing capsulotomy treatments. The Ultra Q incorporates Ellex’s most refined YAG laser technology, which produces an Ultra Gaussian treatment beam and enables consistent optical breakdown at ultra-low energy. This, in turn, results in less risk of lens pitting, more efficient tissue cutting with fewer shots, less cumulative energy delivered and faster procedures.

FEATURES

Flexible, Fully Integrated Design - Ellex’s fully integrated design optimizes laser treatment and provides a number of advantages, including more stable, reliable and consistent energy delivery. The Ultra Q’s built-in slit lamp features converging optics to provide a more natural stereoscopic view, ideal for anterior segment viewing. This compact, efficient design creates more working space for the physician, as well as convenient, simultaneous access to the patient and laser controls. The Ultra Q’s self-contained design, in which the laser and controls are integrated into the slit lamp, provides optimal ease of use and flexibility for adapting to different working conditions.
Ultra Gaussian Beam Mode Enables Lower Energy Treatments - The Ultra Gaussian beam profile and fast plasma rise time result in an ultra-low optical breakdown (in air) at approximately 1.8 mJ in optimal conditions, compared to fundamental mode lasers that typically achieve optical breakdown (in air) at 3 to 4 mJ. This optimized laser energy enables capsulotomies and iridotomies to be performed at lower, more efficient power levels, resulting in a much lower risk of lens pitting, more efficient tissue cutting with fewer shots and less cumulative energy delivered.
Unique, Solid-State Q-Switch Optical Shutter  - Life-tested to deliver 400,000 shots, this solid-state Q-switch does not deteriorate over time like more common YAG Q-switches, and dramatically reduces long-term operating costs.
Fine, Two-Point Focusing System - Detection of aiming deviations of as little as 8 microns from the focal plane ensures that energy is placed where intended in relation to the target. With the Ultra Q’s tolerance range of ± 8 microns, the physician can easily detect if the system is out of focus.
