DESCRIPTION
Patterned Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (PENS)

The Omnistim FX2 Pro Sport is the latest generation in ACPs widely recognized Omnistim FX2 line of electrical stimulation systems. This revolutionary workstation has been developed around the unique demands of elite athletes and sports rehabilitation professionals using ACPs proprietary Patterned Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (PENS) technology. With its new sports-specific treatment protocols, the Omnistim FX2 Pro Sport offers faster set-up, ease of use and flexibility. The pre-set protocols include Run, Sprint, Jump, Skate, Kick, Throw, and other sports-related rehabilitation settings.        ACP's Patterned Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (PENS) closely replicates the body's normal muscle and nerve firing patterns for effective neuromuscular re-education. The system uses biphasic asymmetrical pulsed currents to induce contractions in the agonist and antagonist muscles. By providing high intensity, precisely timed sensory input to these targeted muscles, the system is able to closely replicate the firing activity of sensory neurons and muscle stretch receptors during voluntary activity. In addition to its unique neuromuscular re-education capabilities, ACP's proprietary PENS technology can help reduce disuse muscle atrophy (muscle wasting), decrease muscle spasms, and improve recruitment of muscles for favorable muscle performance.        This versatile workstation also offers Interferential Current (IFC) stimulation for nerve block and pain management applications; Medium Frequency Alternating Current (MFAC or Russian Stim) for treatment of disuse atrophy; Low Voltage Pulsed Current (LVPC or Asymmetric Biphasic) for muscle re-education and reduction of spasm; and High Voltage Pulsed Current (HVPC or Monophasic) for increased circulation, pain management and muscle re-education.
