The Laservac 850™ Smoke Evacuation System is a versatile smoke plume management solution for todays operating environments in clinics and theatres. The dangers of smoke plume generated during laser and electrosurgery are well documented. Although laser surgery is now common practice in modern medicine there are no official regulations regarding the management of the associated smoke. However, it is strongly recommended that smoke evacuation units be used to protect both patient and health care staff from the potential hazards. In the UK, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have called for obligatory smoke evacuation systems to be supplied with medical lasers and the NATN also advises, Dedicated smoke evacuators must be used and the filters checked and changed as per the manufacturers recommendations. Mobile, compact and robust the small footprint of the Laservac 850™ makes it ideal for any surgical setting or procedure. With variable flow and speed control, the Laservac 850™ can be used with all medical lasers or in electro surgery procedures. Remaining quiet in operation, even at full power, it can be used in close proximity to the operator and patient without inconvenience. High efficiency filtration is the key to successful plume removal. Filtration is achieved in three stages by air passing through a pre-filter and a two stage, high efficiency filter combining ULPA grade media and activated carbon. The combined effectiveness of the total filtration package provides an efficiency of >99.9999995% at 0.01 micron. The Laservac 850™ has a unique interconnecting arrangement for simple filter replacement and a totally self contained unit to protect the user making disposal safe and straight forward.
