The system fails to boot with BSOD: Disk (Seagate Barracuda ST3250310AS) has been tested — SMART passed, extended self-test passed, no bad sectors, no I/O errors. The issue is purely the SOFTWARE registry hive content. Attempted: ntfsfix (filesystem was unclean, now fixed), chntpw inspection (hive partially navigable but corrupt), truncating SOFTWARE.LOG. No restore points, no repair folder on this XP Embedded installation. I need either:

2RepliesWed Oct 27 2021 | Don't boot-up anymore How can I get into the bios (Ctrl-S?) to set the hard disk as the 1st boot disk? With ctrl-s I get into the bios but I can't set up harddisk/cd/floppy or anything, indicates that no other settings are possible. Has stood still for a while and starts now suddenly no longer on, possibly back-up battery on the motherboard empty causing the setting to be changed? Who can help me?Reply |
